Hi there! I’m GeekMom (aka Heather Weaver), and Geek Mom Mashup is my blog. In the real world, I’m a wife and mother. I have three kids (kind of like monkeys jumping on the bed), obsessive-compulsive disorder, and lots of hobbies.
When I’m not working online, I like to make jewelry, crochet, and play video games. I also make and sell Twilight jewelry, Hunger Games jewelry, and other fantastic nerdy stuff.
In my pre-mommy life, I was an enthusiastic science student and lab nerd. I have two dusty diplomas to show for it — a B.S. in biology, and an M.S. in environmental science and policy analysis. For a peek into my personal quirkiness, check out my other Heather Weaver sites.

My question is about iWeb. It doesn’t look like you use iWeb for your site. I’m finding it isn’t offering me as much wiggle room as I want.
Do you have any suggestions on the hosting site you use? Or where to go from here?

No, this isn’t an iWeb site. I used to use GoDaddy for my hosting, but have moved most of my domains to HostGator. I still have my craft shop on GoDaddy, and it works fine. I think either of them would be fine to host a blog. They both have easy installation of blog software. This one uses WordPress, and I have been very pleased with the ease of installation and customization. Lots of free templates and sidebar widgets available for WP too. Let me know if you need more info. I’m no expert, but I’m happy to tell you what I know.

Hi Geek Mom, found you on Thesis Forum. I can’t seem to figure out how to start a post…how ungeeky is that! Saw your post in the introduction section and followed it over here. Nice site indeed. I might want to send some blogluv your way. Unfortunately right now, my blog did something weird. It spread out and have big white space between main and second column. have no idea how that happened. Any ideas how to fix? It used to be nice and tight and pretty …hmmm what to do. Maybe you can tell me how to start a thread ova there. thanks
