I CAN HAZ ACORNZ?

by GeekMom on January 19, 2009

I snapped this photo of a cheeky little squirrel on my back patio last week. He and his buddies are cute, but they have taken down and emptied my bird feeder.

I’m tempted to develop a Ninja Warrior type squirrel obstacle course with a zipline, jump-hang, and wobbly bridge, to make the little guys work for their nut and seed treats! If I’m going to feed them, the least they can do is entertain me for a few minutes, right? Coming soon to G4: Squirrel Warrior?

I must agree, a good squirrel video could be a nice way to start my day.
Though, the way the little critter posed for this shot is priceless!

My husband fills our bird feeder every other day. We figure the ratio of birds to squirrels eating out of it is 1:10. I don’t know why the birds even try. There’s always a squirrel hanging off of it. Cute picture!

So funny and so cute! Our squirrels are usually charging off before the camera’s out.

Your photo and caption, almost make me want to rethink my fear of squirrels …
It’s so funny to see my sister and I around squirrels … two 40 something age women … scared of a tiny little TREE RAT.
It all stems from our childhood -
Mom and dad had a low sloping roof over the main entrance to our house, that these CRAZY squirrels would literally try and jump on us kids!
And so began the tree rat phobia ;-)
