When the Geeklings help decorate the tree

by GeekMom on December 9, 2008

Well, I’m here! I’m still alive, and we’ve moved from Indiana to Colorado. I’m buried in boxes and work, but we did manage to put up our Christmas tree last night. My 9 year old offered to add some of his own, handmade ornaments. See if you can figure out which ones he added. Click the photo for a larger view. Cheers! :)

Oh, how I love the Lego men on the tree! No doubt who’s home this tree belongs in!

Good to see you guys got there OK! LOVE the ornaments, too. Especially the one with R2-D2 and… um… that other guy. (Should I admit that I forgot what his name is, and that I don’t think I’ve even seen all the Star Wars movies in their entirety? Prolly not.)

Oh I do not envy you right now. I hate moving and we have done a lot of it. I always take my time unpacking things. I still have things in boxes from the last move in January. The tree looks great!

I have a couple of Lego R2 D2s on my tree too. Is it wrong that they were made and given to me by my adult Team Leader at work? He was sad to hear that I didn’t have my own Lego as a kid, I had to play with the nieghbor’s Lego set.

I like this picture of the snowflake ornament. I like snowflakes! I actually created an earring inspired by the snowflakes and listed in my online store :)

I am glad your move went okay. It is always a stressful time when moving and I hope you are settling in okay. I reckon your Geeklings put the plastic toys on the very nice tree!

Thanks for all of the comments! Yes, it’s quite a fully decorated, eclectic tree. Funny though, the next day, the Lego “ornaments” were gone. I figured he wouldn’t be able to forego playing with them for the whole season. :-)

Oh, and Sue - no, I haven’t seen Twilight yet! I am still looking forward to it, though!!

tehehe.. I love the custom decorations. What more could you want on a Christmas tree.

And I have to say Heather, you have some awesome kiddlywinks right there.

That is one great looking tree! I don’t put up a tree here because I know the minute I do my cat is going to climb it so I would have to keep picking it up and re-decorating the tree and who wants to do that?

Isn’t moving fun during the holidays? (JK) We just moved as well although just to another neighborhood, not another state…yet. Your family’s Christmas tree is adorable with all the lego characters. Congrats on your move and hope you get settled in quickly. We’ll be putting up our tree tonight…with my son’s Godzilla ornaments! Gotta love our boys right? :)

Really hilarious! You should get your geeklings to customise some other things for the tree and add them to an etsy store. You would make a small fortune!
Your blog made me giggle out loud. Thanks!

Wow a move to another state during the holidays. I really feel for you. The thing I hate about moving is the unpacking. Heck I still haven’t unpacked some boxes from my move last year.
