Twilight trailer and a crafty creation

by GeekMom on July 21, 2008

I watched the second Twilight trailer today, and it is much better than the first one! It's quite a bit more exciting, and makes it even harder to wait until the movie comes out in December! If you're not already a fan of the Twilight books (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse), you might decide to check them out after you watch the trailer. The last book of the series, Breaking Dawn, will be released in less than two weeks, and my pre-ordered copy will be delivered by my dashing Man In Brown on August 2!

Here is the movie trailer!

To keep myself busy in the meantime...

I searched several online sources for silver charms representing important things and events in the Twilight books. I came up with seven that are especially significant, and made this Twilight charm bracelet. I started out just making one for myself, but I thought there might be other crazy-obsessed fans out there who would love it, too. So here it is!

I must say, I just love the way it turned out. It is fun and whimsical, and it just screams "TWILIGHT!" You can read all the details and order your own at my Twilight Charm Bracelet page, if you're interested. :-)

I agree that the second trailer is better than the first, however, it could be misleading with all the fast paced action.
I love your charm bracelet, very nice!

Newsweek had an online article about an interesting type of mom/daughter bonding from Twilight. See this http://connectwithyourteens.blogspot.com/2008/07/twilight-in-newsweek-moms-and-daughters.html

Goodness. Doesn’t really look like a kids’ movie (?) We read a ton around here (with my 12 yr. old daughter) but somehow have missed the “Twilight” series.

@Marye: Yes, I read a message from Stephenie Meyer saying the trailer has scenes and quotes intentionally out of chronological order, so we shouldn’t try to put everything together based on the trailers. It might contain all the best stuff, but I’m sure they’re saving some for the actual movie! :-)

@Jennifer: I read your post, and I can imagine the books are providing opportunities for moms and girls to talk about stuff. My daughter is only three, so we’re not there yet.

@Almost: It’s more of a teen/young adult story. It’s a fantasy/adventure/romance, but it’s pretty chaste. It has a lot to do with self-control.

My daughter Em has been telling me for months that I need to read these books.. I was always reading something different, but finally, I told her to give me the first one and I’d start on it.

I had it finished in 2 days.. now that’s no time record of course, but you know, being a mom.. that’s really no easy feat and many other things get put to the way-side… I was in the last few pages and she handed me the second book.. and as I was finishing up book two, she finished re-reading book 3 and handed it to me. It took me all of 6 days to read the 3 books.. and while I cannot wait for *my* Man in Brown to deliver the 4th book (and my daughter to read it first), I am also kind of glad for the breather!

It’s been a long time that a book (series) has grabbed me so fast and deeply.. I love that it’s a simple read too.. Love the characters..

Oh.. and your bracelet is great! Did you put it on etsy?
