Please tell me what you think of my new blog business card!
Hello, dear friends, loyal readers, and random lurkers. I am notoriously indecisive (just ask Hubby), and I am having a hard time deciding on a final design for my new blog business card. Since you're all savvy bloggers and internet addicts, I need you to tell me what you think of this design, okay? Please share your honest first impressions in the comments. Thank you, thank you!
EDIT (7/21/08): Thanks for all of the wonderful suggestions and comments! I have finally decided on a design, and my new cards are on their way! I'll post the winning design, which incorporates some of your excellent ideas, once they arrive. I can hardly wait to see them for real!

I love it! Love the idea for the back of the card too!
I like it. But I would put more white spaces on the front of the card where your name/email address, so someone can write additional info.
Rudys last blog post..Orange County Fair 2008
I agree with Rudy but I’d put the white space on the back. When I clean out my wallet after conferences the business cards on which I DID NOT write anything are likely to become bookmarks or trash.
I think it’s great. It’s uniquely you and easily recognized. The back is cute too.

I love it too.
I agree about white space for writing on. Sometimes you want to make a note, like “Met this lady at Comic Convention 2008″ or something.
If you can find space, another idea is to add your tagline so that people know what the site is about: “Life is a mashup of toys and gadgets, hobbies and recipes, kids and odd socks, all held together with love and duct tape.”

I think that the front is perfect as is. I’d reduce the size of the graphic on the back to create the “white space” that others have mentioned, and put the “tag” line that explains it on the back as well.

Some useful suggestions! This is turning out to be a pretty unique way to go about designing a card…or a great way to confuse GeekMom

The front looks good, but the back is too “busy”. You should add more information in the back as well and turn your business card into a double edged sword. I know one guy who added “I can do it”. Whenever I see the back I can help but turn the card again and there I send him an email again.
That’s a sweet looking card.

WOW! Thanks for the great ideas, everybody! And by the way, Jason of GorillaSushi is doing the design for me. So you won’t hurt my feelings if you don’t like it. You’ll hurt his. ha ha. I doubt it. He seems pretty tough.
I love the front — it’s perfect, but it seems redundant to have that image on the back. I’m totally with other posters who have said the back needs whitespace for notes, etc but I think it just needs to be left all white with no image or writing on it at all. I tend to be rather conservative in my thinking though.
Now put that on a 14pt, C2S stock with UV coating on both side and you have a very nice card. But then again Jason knows what he is doing.
Your new card looks great. Because you have branded your image well, it is unique and distinctive and people will recognize it easily.
I think that the front is perfect, I think it’s great also the blog posts are concise and precise. I like the pleasant approach in which the posts are written. A gold mine both in quantity as well as quality of articles. Author confers best advice to commenters and in short time
I would have gone with a non-serif font for the type, since the artwork is so modern and digital-age looking. Other commenters are probably right about the white space, but most cards I’ve seen don’t follow that guideline. In all, I like it. Very eye-catching.
It’s great. It is informative, creative and visually interesting

Heather,
I agree with the folks who suggested a bit more whitespace. I just got some Moo cards via flickr and I’ve got my avatar on the front and just my primary social media contact stuff on the back.

Very cute, I personally love the back of the card (you can always write on your face, if necessary!) Easily recognizable, and would definitely pique my interest.
I think it looks GREAT! Very unique.

I love the front–it’s perfect! I agree with the comments about white space on the back. And as a general rule, it’s never a good idea to set type in a place where it will look like a lop-sided moustache–especially on a picture of a woman.

@GorillaSushi - awesome job on the card but I definitely have to go with the majority here and say more white space on the back. @GeekMom - great way to continue furthering your brand! You’re card is going to look FABULOUS!
I love it, would like something so catchy for my own!
Debbie Lanes last blog post..Dear Debbie,
Am I the only one that sees a mustache on the back? More white space, please! Otherwise, good job, Jason!

Great idea to make a business card duh, why didn’t I think of that. I usually write the website down on a piece of paper.

Ha ha! I thought I was the only one seeing the mustache, and that’s kind of why we decided to put the design up here. Sometimes I worry about stuff that nobody else notices. So I guess now the stache must go.
I really like it! Good idea.
@LuckyGirl, ROFL! So true. I think the back could be graphic only, no text. @GorillaSushi, great job! It definitely strengthens GeekMom branding. @anyone who cares, as a graphic designer, i get bored of UV coating, and if someone WANTS to write on the card, that coating is a booger to write on. is it possible to coat the graphic on the back and leave front uncoated so people can sneak some writing in the existing white space? — there you have it. design by committee!!!
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!
Lisa365/starbursidereuss last blog post..Doodle Day #2 (late!)
I think GeekMomMustache.com is available.
@Mike: I was thinking that too until I looked at the blog header again. I really like how the card matches the site to create a cohesive branding effort.
@Heather: you may want to set up a PO box so your blog buddies can send a SASE. I imagine the final design will be pretty close to what I see here, sans mustache.

I love it
It’s very cute and fun, definitely not the typical business card.

I love the card!!! About the only thing I would do to it is take the mustache off the card! I don’t see a reason though to add white space to the card. Though I’m a few days late so it may have already gone through! Either way it looks great!
I think the business card is cute.

I like the image very much. I agree with the whitespace on back idea. And I’m wondering why this image isn’t in your blog header? It has a lot of appeal.

I like them - nice work.
I can also highly recommend @gorillasushi - he just did my new biz cards as well and they look great.

I like it…it is original for one thing and that makes it a card that will be hard to just toss over or forget about.
Also if you can print it out in super quality paper…with a finished coating…people will be less apt to get rid of it.
If you like it…then it is a keeper!
Thanks for asking!

I love the design
I love it! I wish I could make business cards like that. I have some business cards of my own, but with a basic template; nothing fancy. I’m getting there.

sweet!
I agree with the 300 pound gorilla in the room - card looks great! I may be a little biased though as I did personally check through them all before shipping them out
Hope you like them. And spread the word on what wonderful printers/designers created them for you.
