Time for a very silly game

by GeekMom on June 17, 2008

Spamalot game cow catapultI always love finding fun, new online games to play. This one may not be new, but I hadn’t seen it before. It’s called “Spamalot,” and it’s a catapult game.

Yes, if you are familiar with the story of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, you know what kind of catapult game I’m talking about. You choose your side — English or French — I chose French, because they are better taunters.

Although the gameplay is a bit sluggish (which could just be my machine), it was still fun. The sheer silliness of loading up cows, donkeys, and chickens (and the Holy Hand Grenade!) onto a catapult and flinging them toward the oncoming foes made for an amusing 15 minutes.

I only made it past those levels, so I don’t know what horrors might await a more successful flinging campaign. A Trojan Rabbit, perhaps?

If you try the game, let me know how far you get. “Now go a-way, or I shall taunt you a second time-uh!” :-P

Definitely a ton of fun. Funny, too!

However, on Level 5 (Knight that says “NI!”), I didn’t get any goat, chicken, or cow to catapult. I couldn’t fight back. The game was rigged!

O Lord, bless this Thy hand grenade that with it Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits, in Thy mercy.

I love Monty Python so I will definately check this one out. Thank you for sharing.

Okay, you got me. I was just gonna “drive by” and drop an Entre Card.

I found myself reminiscing about playing “Scorched Earth” on my old 486.

I love how we Monty Python fans seem to find one another. Who else would appreciate a cow catapult, coupled with outrageous taunts spoken with a funny French accent?! You are all excellent people, obviously!

@Condo: thanks for the extra love! I’ve also seen the movie countless times, and the musical Spamalot once. Run away!
