Make your own digital signature image

Well, it won’t pass for your actual pen and paper signature, but if you want to add a little personal touch to your online writings, you might want to try this. MyLiveSignature.com has a nifty free service that lets you type in your name, choose from 120 fonts, several colors, sizes, and varying degrees of slant, to create a personalized “signature” that you can post on your blog.

Here are some of the fonts you can choose from. They range from elegant script to scratchy scrawls, and you should be able to find one that is close to your own style. Or you can cheat, and choose one that’s completely different from your own! If you have a few minutes to burn, go give it a try. Use it in your e-mail signature, at the end of your blog posts, or just as a personal touch on your profile pages.

And by the way, there are also some signature customizations you can pay extra for, but I didn’t try those. I’m cheap. Cheers!

I love this site. One day I’m going to pay for the upgrades just as a treat for myself.

If you want the ultimately customized handwritten signature, do it on paper and scan it. Cleaning it up in Photoshop is optional.

Elliot : You can also upload your scanned signature in My Live Signature. The site only gives an option to people who doesn’t want to go to the trouble of scanning their original signature. And the great thing about this site is that you can embed it and make a custom layout of your name and url with your online signature on top. :)

@Elliott – Yes, that would be the best, but I’m lazy. Also, I’m not sure I want my actual signature out there for anyone to have. Not that it’s worth much…

@Louie – Great minds think alike! :-)

@GeekMom – Maybe this cool little site exists for doctors.

Oh well. There’s always something interesting out there in Web2.0-Land, even if it’s interesting for only a few minutes.

Hi this is my method of creating a digital signature for free.

Open up MS Powerpoint
Select a font eg Script or Corsiva ie handwriting style font
Now using the text box option and using a large size/black colour, type your signature eg DDil.
Now zoom into the signature so that it ‘fits to screen’
Now using the freehand tool to draw over your signature as if you are using a pen tool, use a different colour eg Red font colour. When you are happy with what you see. delete the typed text or move it to another place. You should be left with your signature. You can resize this to get it to the right size and then copy/paste it onto your documents etc.

PS: The larger the font size when typing your signature means your final signature will be smoother.

If you find this useful drop me an email. thanks dab
