Darn those Girl Scouts and their Thin Mints

Once a year, the Girl Scouts set up shop in the foyer of our local grocery store. They stack up boxes and boxes of cookies, put on their sashes, smiles, and best manners. I try to resist, but I just can’t!

I must have the cookies!

Last year, my husband mistakenly brought home some peanut butter sandwich cookies. I wanted Peanut Butter Patties. They are soooo not the same. Peanut Butter Patties are covered in chocolate. The sandwiches are not. The Patties are my favorites!

Coming in a close second are the Thin Mints. When I was a Girl Scout, I think there were lots more Thin Mints per box. Also, each box was much cheaper back then. Yes, the cookies are expensive. Yes, they are not good for me. But I just can’t help it!

This is embarrassing, but I just did a line of Thin Mints. I tried to stop, but I couldn’t, and before I knew it, the whole tube was empty. Darn those Girl Scouts and their tiny, delicious, overpriced cookies!

LOL I avoid the places they lurk this time of year. And I’m ever so thankful that I have a new job where no one has children of Girl Scout Cookie age. Yeah, I can do a line of Thin Mints and not even notice it happened.

Mine are Tagalongs. Hmm, diet? Maybe after I finish this row, oh, wait, you can’t leave just 4 in the box, they’d get loney, just eat them to tidy up a bit…

:-( Grrrr, it’s the Girl Scouts fault. (FYI, I saw Girl Scout cookie ice cream last night, seriously now!)

I love the PB patties…formerly known as Tagalongs (why must they change names every year?). I like to try the new things, but the Thin Mints and PB Patties are the mainstays.

And I have found that Kroger’s Private Selection PB Patties are VERY much the same as the GS cookies. Same with the Thin Mints…Keebler’s “Grasshoppers” are the same….

I am so weak for thin mints! There is no defense system created that will keep me from them!

Thin mints are my favorite. They’re even better if you freeze them.

Thin Mints are the best kinds!!! I always do a line at a time when I have them in my house! I have to buy in twos so half can sit in the cupboard for me and half can be frozen for hubby!

I totally understand—I did a “line” myself the other night! (lol!) They are addictive little cookies, aren’t they?

I think it is a well known fact that those devious little Girl Scouts have added some highly addictive ingredients into those cookies. I thought that if I froze them I would be able to resist..but instead I found myself gnawing on a frozen thin mints in the middle of the night like a starved animal.
